Program

State of the Coast 2012 will be similar in structure to our 2010 conference, featuring three days of presentations by leading experts in concurrent sessions, plenary sessions and poster sessions, as well as keynote speakers and networking opportunities.  Specific program details and topics will be released on this page as the conference draws closer.

Concurrent Sessions:

Presentations for concurrent sessions will be selected from abstract submissions.  Concurrent session topics can be submitted by participants or selected by the planning committee.  To submit your abstract for State of the Coast 2012, click here.

Plenary Sessions:

Plenary sessions will focus on key policies that are needed to advance coastal protection and restoration within the state and federal government.  These sessions are open discussions with key policy makers about legislation, regulations and practices needed for the future of Louisiana’s coast.  These sessions may include state legislators, U.S. Representatives and Senators, parish officials, agency administrators, university leaders and many others.

Poster Sessions:

Poster presentations describe work pertaining to ecology, engineering, hydrology, water quality, information systems, planning and policy, economics and ecosystem valuation topics, just to name a few. These presentations play a key role in the success of State of the Coast 2012.  Much time will be dedicated for presenters and viewers to interact and share details of their work, successes and lessons learned.

Keynote Speakers:

Keynote speakers are being identified, and more details will be released in the months leading up to State of the Coast 2012.
