SOC16 is proud to offer Student Scholarships to a limited number of qualified undergraduate or graduate students who have submitted abstracts for oral or poster presentations by the submittal deadline. A Student Scholarship will cover your student registration fee for the conference and includes admission to all oral and poster sessions, exhibits, breaks, luncheons, the Opening Reception, Poster Session Happy Hour, plus the program book. You will be asked to present your Student ID when checking in at the registration booth.
Student Scholarships are intended to encourage undergraduate and graduate students who exhibit inherent interest and academic potential in fields related to coastal ecosystems, societies, and economies to attend SOC16 and share their research as presenters at the conference.
Eligibility Criteria & Deadlines:
|♦||Be enrolled as a current full-time undergraduate or graduate student.|
|♦||Submit an abstract to be an oral or poster presenter by the submission deadlines that demonstrates merit to the application reviewers in applicable coastal fields.|
|♦||Submit all Student Scholarship application materials by the submission deadline -- you may apply for both a Student Scholarship and a Student Worker Position, but only one financial assistance opportunity will be awarded per student.|
|♦||Agree to fill out the conference evaluation form following the conference, including your feedback and recommendations for student-related activities at future SOC conference.|
|♦||Students will be notified of their acceptance for a Student Scholarship or Student Worker position|
