Gulf carbon research working group kickoff meeting

The Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority, Restore America’s Estuary, Stantec, The Water Institute and other Gulf experts gathered for an organizational meeting with a goal to establish a blue carbon research working group for the Gulf Coast. Contact info@thewaterinstitute.org for more information.

Sustainable Coastal funding workshop with Restore the Mississippi River Delta

Restore the Mississippi River Delta hosted a workshop to review a finalized report centered on sustainable coastal funding solutions through the state via securitization of debt, revolving loan funds, taxes/tax credits and other opportunities. We also reviewed the outcome of a jointly led report by the ULL Blanco Public Policy Center that focused on the potential revenues offshore wind could generate for Louisiana’s Coastal Trust Fund. Finally, the group brainstormed action items to follow as a result of the discussions.

If you would like more information on the event, please contact Simone Maloz (smaloz@mississippiriverdelta.org) or Katie Gruzd Daniel (kgruzd@edf.org) with Restore the Mississippi River Delta.
