
State of the coast 2025
SOC 2025 took place May 20 to 22 in Hall I of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. It was hosted by the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana in partnership with the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority and The Water Institute.
SOC 2025 was attended by more than 1,300 scientists, landowners, land managers, federal and state agency personnel, local officials, industry and business leaders, resource users, students and residents of coastal communities. This set a personal attendance record for the conference.
The conference featured a dynamic slate of programming including presentations, panel discussions and rapid-fire lightning rounds designed to stimulate conversation and innovate solutions for our changing coast. These sessions offered a unique opportunity to dive into the heart of Louisiana’s coastal challenges and innovations, highlighting the intersections between environmental science, economic vitality and community resilience.
